Manufacturing SEO Runs on Different Rules

SEO for manufacturers doesn’t look like SEO for anything else. It runs on specs, tolerances, and certifications, not features and pricing tiers.

The language has to be technical, not marketing-driven. “5-axis CNC, .0005 tolerance, AS9100 certified” gets you found. “Innovative solutions” doesn’t.

The most valuable information is often the hardest to find. Certifications get buried deep into the site structure on random pages instead of sitting on the page where a buyer is already looking. Capabilities get crammed onto one page instead of each one getting its own shot at showing up in a search.

And the site itself often shows its age. Slow load times, confusing navigation, specs that are hard to find: all of it adds friction for a buyer who could just as easily move on to a shop that made it easy.

Why Manufacturing SEO Isn’t One-Size-Fits-All

An engineer doesn’t Google your industry and pick the first result. They save five tabs, compare tolerances, check who’s ISO certified, and forward the shortlist to someone else before anyone fills out a form.

Most SEO work stops at getting you onto that shortlist. Mine doesn’t. I set up the site and the tracking so you know which of those five tabs was yours, and whether it ever turned into a quote.

I’ve spent 9+ years building SEO for firms with long, complicated sales cycles, so I know what it takes to hold a buyer’s attention until they’re ready to reach out.

Where Manufacturing SEO Actually Breaks

Six things that actually move the needle for industrial buyers, not generic advice that applies to any website.

Write in spec language, not marketing language

An engineer doesn’t search “quality machining services.” They search “5-axis CNC tolerance .0005,” “AS9100 aluminum machining,” “Inconel 718 supplier.” Adjectives don’t rank. Materials and numbers do.

Certifications need to be visible text, not just a logo in the footer

Procurement filters by certification before they look at anything else.

One page per facility, with a real difference

Not the same paragraph with the city name swapped.

One page per process, not one “Capabilities” page for everything

Google can’t rank one page for three different searches.

Track the RFQ, not the click

Rising traffic means nothing if you don’t know which page, which search, which buyer actually led to a real inquiry.

A finished project is better proof than a blog post

Real specs from a completed job build more trust with an engineer than ten posts about “trends in manufacturing.”

MY Process: Four Stages, One Goal

1.Audit & Strategy

Before I touch a single page, I map where your current traffic actually goes, and where it quietly disappears before becoming an inquiry.

2. Keyword & Content Optimization

I rebuild your keyword targeting around spec language: tolerances, materials, certifications, processes. Not adjectives.

3. Site Structure & Authority Building

One page per process, one page per facility, each with something real to say. No page trying to be everything to everyone.

4. Tracking & Attribution

This is the stage most agencies skip. I connect the search term, the landing page, and the form submission to what actually happens to that lead afterward.

WHAT’S INCLUDED IN MY MANUFACTURING SEO PACKAGE

This is a complete SEO and website package built for manufacturing B2B firms.

seo audit

Detecting where you’re leaking traffic:

A working map of your current site: what ranks, what converts, what doesn’t

A short list of the highest-impact fixes, ranked by effort versus payoff

On-Page & Content Optimization

Creating pages built the way engineers actually search:

Dedicated pages for each process you run, instead of one page trying to cover them all

Certifications written into the page itself, not just displayed as a logo

Authority & Trust Signals

Optimizing the site that holds up under real scrutiny:

Facility pages with real detail: equipment, capacity, the people who run it

A small library of finished projects with real numbers, the kind of proof that gets shared internally before a buyer signs off

Conversion & Lead Tracking

Working with number that sales can actually use:

Every form and phone number tied back to the page and search term that produced it

A monthly view of which pages are producing RFQs, not just traffic

MY promise

Clear monthly updates, direct access to me, no account manager in between.

No 12-month lock-in contracts.

This entire process is delivered for a flat monthly rate of $1,500. You get up to 30 hours of focused expert work each month, without agency overhead.

PROOF

For a reseller in the backup and cybersecurity space, I got their pricing page ranking #1, above the product’s own creator. Same product, better page, higher rank, plus two more featured snippets in AI Overviews for related terms.

PROOF OVER PROMISES

I’ll show you a real result, like a reseller’s product pages that outranked the manufacturer’s own, before I ask you to take anything else on faith.
